Philippine Airlines to operate at New Terminal One at JFK Airport

Philippine Airlines announced it has become the first airline from Southeast Asia to commit to operate at The New Terminal One (NTO) at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport.


The Philippine flag carrier announced a new partnership with the the NTO, where it will it will shift its operations at the New York City hub from the current Terminal 1 upon its opening in 2026.


The NTO is part of New York City Port Authority's USD $19 billion transformation of JFK Airport. Currently built on sites now occupied by the current Terminal 1, the first phase – including the new arrivals and departure halls, and the first 14 gates – is expected to be opened 2026. The project completion is expected to take place in 2030. With a designed area of 2.4 million square feet featuring 23 gates, it will be the largest terminal at JFK Airport.

“This partnership with the JFK New Terminal One highlights an important innovation for Philippine Airlines. This alliance allows us to enhance our service and elevate the travel experience for our passengers traveling between Manila and New York, as well as nearby cities in New Jersey and Connecticut, and throughout the U.S. East Coast and Midwest,” PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng said. “We stay committed to creating a seamless and memorable journey, reflecting our dedication to excellence in every flight.”

 “We are delighted to welcome Philippine Airlines to our growing family of airlines at the New Terminal One,” The New Terminal One at JFK Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Aument said. “Our teams share a strong commitment to customer experience, and we look forward to working together to elevate the curb-to-gate experience for Philippine Airlines customers flying to and from New York.”


In addition to Philippine Airlines, airlines including Air China, Air France, KLM, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, SAS, Neos, and Air Serbia have committed to operate out of the NTO.

Philippine Airlines is currently the only airline operating nonstop flights between the Philippines and New York City with three weekly flights from Manila to JFK Airport. Operating three times weekly, Philippine Airlines uses Airbus A350-900 on the route.
